Saturday May the 1st 1847

The Shenandoah Valley cooperation met in Borden's School house Shenandoah County Va May the 1st 1847 at 9 o'clock AM, Joseph Wattson in the Chair, & Isaac R Hite, secretary.

The cooperation was called to order & proceeded immediately to business, the following mesengers being present to wit:

The cooperation then proceeded to receive the mesengers from the congregation at Bausermans school house Shenandoah County Va when Samuel Miley, Amos Crabill, & Isaac Rhodes presented themselves as the mesengers sent by said congregation. Some difficulties having existed between sadi congregation, & the brethren in cooperation, on motion of Bro M Boehm, it was resolved that said brethren (acting as mesengers from said congregation) be interogated respecting the proceedings of the former cooperations, they then being thus interogated, declared that they perfectly acquiesed in all the former actions of the cooperations, after which they were unanimously received.

On motion

Resolved that this cooperation authorize the moderator and secretary to give letters of commendaton to Bro John D Ferguson, or Bro John J Jackson, or any brothers (who may be Evangelizing by authority of said cooperation) whenever called for by said Evangelists for & in behalf of the cooperation.

On motion of J J Jackson the case of A Saum, former Treasurer of the Valley Cooperation was laid before the brethren relative so some letters having been written by him to several congregations composing this cooperation, predudicial to Bro J J Jackson. [Transcriber's note: At this point the last phrase is enclosed in penciled double parentheses and the words, " this is a lie & J J Jackson is a Rascal" are penciled between the lines.] It was then unanimously Resolved that this cooperation rescind the 4th resolution passed by said cooperation at Narrow Passage October the 24th 1846,& that instead of this cooperation having a Treasurer, they suggest the propriety of each congregation a solicitor, & collector

for the purpose of raising funds for the support of the Gospel, & pay the same to the Evangelist or Evangelists subject to the direction of the congregation thus contributing.

On motion of Bro R Bowers Resolved that the next cooperation meeting be held in Union Meeting house Shenandoah County Va on Friday before the 1st Lords day in September 1847

Resolved that this meeting adjourn.
