The Shenandoah Valley Cooperation having met at Fairview according to appointment on the 14th day of September 1850.
The Brethren present were, from the Narrow Passage and Union Forge, -- Brothers Martin F. Miley and Elder J. J. Jackson, from Fairview Brothers Matthais Smoots, John Sager, John Hotsenpillar, Samuel Kern, Joseph Swan (?) and Henry J. Smoots. The meeting being called to order and a motion being made to choose a Moderator and Secretary, Brother Martin F. Miley was appointed Moderator Unanimously and Henry J. Smoots Secretary. A motion was made to record upon the Cooperation Book the retractions made by the church at Zion against Brother J. J. Jackson which motion was unanimously adopted.

We hereby retract the charges made against Brother J. J. Jackson, in the letters written to the Congregations at Charlotsville, and Richmond, and also to R L Coleman; which letters were signed by A Strickler, Elder of Zion Congregation. Shenandoah County.

A motion was also made to record upon the Cooperation Book the retractions made by Henry Jennings against the brethren in Cooperation ( the retraction being concerning the seventh resolution passed by the brethren in Cooperation at Narrow Passage October the 24th 1846 which motion was unanimously agreed to.

This certifies that I Henry Jennings do retract the rash inference against the brethren in Cooperation in charging them with passing a certain resolution on their Book No. with a special reference to me, upon all the brethren disclaim any such motive.

A motion was then made to receive into fellowship and communion all those members of the Zion congregation who are disposed to come into order.

A motion was made to appoint someone as treasurer of the Cooperation when Henry J. Smoots was unanimously appointed as treasurer.

A motion was made to commend Thornton H Taylor to the Brethren as a worthy proclaimer of the Gospel and also to commend him to Court to obtain License to Solemnize Matrimony. Which motion was unanimously adopted.

The above resolution was complied with December the 15th 1850. [Transcriber note: inasmuch as this entry is in the normal flow of the record, not inserted, apparently this record was actually written sometime after December 15, 1850. RAS]

A motion was made to give to Brother G. W. Abell a letter of commendation to all the disciples in Christ with whom he may meet which, motion was unanimously adopted.

The above motion was also complied with.

On motion of Bro. J. J. Jackson the meeting adjourned to meet at Narrow Passage until Saturday before the Sunday of November 1850
