Report of Delegates of the conditions of congregations
New Providence reports in usual order Numbering 42.
Walnut Spring reports in usual order numbering about 70.
Zion reports in usual or better order numbering about 40.
Fair View not in an organized state, but desirous of having regular preaching.
Next the report of the evangelist being read, it was moved that the same be received and entered on the minutes of the meeting.
On motion the meeting adjourned to meet at 3 O'clock P. M.
Meeting met in the afternoon according to arrangements after singing and prayer the meeting proceeded to business.
Upon motion the churches proceeded to report the amounts which they contribute for evangelizing purposes for the ensuing year.
New Providence agrees to contribute for the next year $25.00 Walnut Spring $85.00 Zion $25.00
It was then moved and adopted that bro. John Pirkey be appointed to act as evangelist for a part of the ensuing year, at least so much as the above funds will satisfy.
Upon motion the following brethren were appointed as delegates to the State Cooperation to begin at Richmond on the Friday before the 3rd Lord's day in November next John Pirkey, Henry P. Bader, Levi Stickley, Abraham Stickley, James A. Cowgill
Next Cooperation for the Valley to be held at Zion on the Friday before the third Lord's day in April 1856 at 3 O'clock P. M.
Resolved that this meeting give brother Cowgill a letter of commendation and character.
