Pursuant to a resolution passed at its last session, The Shenandoah Valley Cooperation met at Strasburg September 5th 1856 at 3 Oclock P. M.
Brother Obed Funk appointed moderator.
Meeting called to order by the moderator.
Singing and prayer by Brother J. A. Cowgill and Brother Jennings.
It was then moved and adopted that the minutes of the preceding session of the Cooperation be read, which was accordingly done.
The delegates from the different congregations then reported themselves.

Reports of the state and condition of the different respective congregations in cooperation by their respective messengers.
Walnut Spring reports in harmony and in usual order, numbering about Eighty members (80)
Strasburg reports in regular order numbering Twelve members
Zion Congregation reports in usual order numbering about Forty
Edinburg no report
It was then moved and adopted that the report of the Evangelist be read and that the report be entered within the minutes of the cooperation
On motion a committee of three viz Bro Shull Bro Crabill Bro Jenkens were appointed to arrange speakers for the different appointments
On motion by Elder J. Pirkey meeting adjourned until tomorrow 9 1/2 O'clock AM.
The Cooperation met again Saturday 9 1/2 O'clock AM
Bros. N J Schowalter Wm. Little James Sargent reported themsleves messengers from New Providence and took their seats as such. Also John W. Pingley from Walnut Spring, and also Bro A. Strickler H P Bader and H crabill reported themselves messengers from Zion Congregation.
On motion by Elder Pirkey the brethren present who were not appoionted Delgates were invited to participate in the meeting, viz Brother F R Mowrey Bro William Saunders & Bro Delong.
On motion for further reports from churches New Providence reported in usual order and numbers about thirty six members

On motion by Elder Pirkey a committee of 5 was appointed to confer as to the best measures to secure the services of 6 evangelists that will be satsifactory to the churches in the Valley which committe as constituted of the following Brethren viz ___ Strickler Wm Little Andrew Artes [not clear] F R Mowery & Obed Funk thereupon Eld J Pirkey & Eld H Jennings were reinstated and the nomination confirmed by this cooperation.
Amounts pledged by the different churches for the support of Evangelists for the ensuing year
Strasburg $12.. Walnut Spring $60. Zion $50. New Providence $15.50. Edinburg $30.
Moved & carried that the next Cooperation be held in Edinburg on Friday before the 1st Lords day in April next.
Moved & carried that Brothers Pirkey and Jennings be appointed messengers to represent this cooperation in the general cooperation to be held in Richmond Friday before the 3rd Lords day in November next. If either of the Brothers appointed should be unable to attend said meeting any other Bro. Messengers of this cooperation is hereby authorized to attend said meeting andrepresent this body
On motion meeting adjourned until the first Friday in April 1857 3 Oclock PM
